Classification of plants
There are several varieties in plants , which have different heights , types of stem and branching pattern , based on these plants can be classified into trees , shrubs , Herbs , Climbers and creepers.
Trees
Tall plants with thick , hard and brown stems are called trees. Their stems , branch out and spread above the ground .
Example : Guava tree , Neem tree , Coconut tree etc
Herbs
Plants with soft green stems are called as herbs. They are generally short and do not have branches .

Shrubs
Plants with hard stems which branch near the surface of soil are called as shrubs.
Example : lemon , Rose etc
Climber
Climbers are plants that take support of neighbouring structures and climb up .
Example. : Pea etc
Creepers
Creepers have weak stems and cannot stand upright . They spread on the ground . They are also called runners .
Example : pumpkin , strawberry etc
